W związku w gwałtownym wzrostem liczy osób zakażonych nowych szczepem koronawirusa, rząd podjął decyzje o objęciu kolejnych obszarów Anglii poziomem 4 obostrzeń covid’owych. Zmiany przepisów weszły w życie o północy a dotyczą niemal całego regionu Midlands, północno-wschodniej, północno-zachodniej i południowo-zachodniej części kraju.
Już ponad 44 milionów mieszkańców Anglii objęto najsurowszymi restrykcjami rządowego systemu covid’owego. Wyjątkiem, który skutecznie wygrywa walkę z wirusem jest Isles of Scilly – to jedyny obszar w kraju pozostający na poziomie 1. Od wrześnie nie odnotowano tam żadnego przypadku Coid-19.
